Most parts of Pakistan have been witnessing rain for the past two to three days with snowfall in the northern parts of the country.
In the last 24 hours, 54mm rain has been recorded in Rawalpindi, 45mm in Islamabad, 25mm in Sialkot, 19mm in Chakwal, 14mm in Gujrat, 9mm in Jhelum and 1mm in Lahore, as per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The Met Office has attributed the recent weather conditions to a Westerly wave affecting the northern parts of Pakistan, however, it is likely to weaken from Wednesday (today).
The recent spell of rain was accompanied by a hailstorm in different parts of Punjab including Lahore, Kallar Kahar, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Sargodha to name a few.
The lowest minimum temperature today will be recorded in Kalat (-09°C), Quetta and Gupis (-05°C), Skardu and Kalam (-04°C), Murree, Malamjabba and Dalbandin (-03°C).
More scattered rainfall is expected at isolated places in Mardan, Kohat, Peshawar, Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi divisions and Islamabad with more snowfall in hilly areas on Wednesday. The weather will clear out on Thursday, making it cold and dry in most parts of the country.
The hailstorm has triggered the social media users to share their thoughts and images. Some are jubilant, while others are concerned.

While people have been sharing delighting views of the streets and roads turning white, the hailstorm and rains have resulted in a number of accidents, especially along the motorways near Kallar Kahar.
Be careful out there people. We are not familiar with such weather conditions and the cars, expensive as hell, aren’t that reliable.#Hailstorm #Motorway#Kalarkahar pic.twitter.com/EAa0eTEoZK
