YouTube App’s New Feature Lets You Switch Videos Easily

YouTube is updating its mobile app, allowing the user to navigate easily through the videos.
The company has announced that the new update is a horizontal swiping gesture that enables the user to switch to the next or the previous video that he/she has been watching.
You can now move to the next recommended video by swiping forward or the last watched video by swiping back. Not only this, but you can continue from where you left when you jump on the last watched video.
YouTube aims at giving its users more control over video playback with this update. Notably, 70% of YouTube’s viewership comes from mobile.

The new update will not only attract more viewership but also will increase the user engagement on the platform. However, it is not the only change the company has brought to its mobile app.
Only last year, it added numerous features like screen time controls, stories, a dark mode, and auto-playing videos on the homepage of the app.
In 2017, it came up with a feature that enabled the user to jump forward or back by 10 seconds by double tapping a video on the left or right side. The new feature seems to be an extension of the 2017 feature.
Nevertheless, the new feature will be available for iOS users next week. There is no date announced for when it will come on Android.
